Every autumn, we release an annual white paper entitled Kansai and the Asia Pacific in Japanese. In the following spring, we publish an updated and abridged version of the white paper in English. This year’s English-language issue, Kansai and the Asia Pacific: Economic Outlook 2025-26, will be released on April 2026, and it will be available on the APIR website.

This year’s white paper is structured into two parts.
Part I ：examines developments in the U.S. economy and global economic trends under the second Trump administration, focusing on trade and economic policies, energy security, U.S.–China competition, and changes in the Asia Pacific trade structure, particularly in ASEAN economies. Part II ：reviews recent developments and short-term prospects for the Japanese and Kansai economies, analyzing labor supply constraints, inbound tourism, the economic impacts of the Osaka–Kansai Expo, industrial structure, and post-pandemic consumption behavior.

In this event, sessions will be held in English only. We invite all those who are interested in, or involved in strengthening economic ties among Kansai, the rest of Japan, and the Asia-Pacific region.

一般財団法人アジア太平洋研究所（APIR）は『アジア太平洋と関西－関西経済白書－』（日本語版）を、毎秋に刊行しております。

この日本語版を基に、新たに編集し英訳した『Kansai and the Asia Pacific, Economic Outlook 2025-26』を4月に刊行致します。

本書は、民間企業のみならず、駐日公館、官公庁・自治体、大学を中心に活用されております。

 

今年の白書は、２部にて構成されております。

「Part Ⅰ」では、トランプ第2次政権下の米国経済と世界経済の動向を考察し、貿易および経済政策、エネルギー安全保障、米中の技術的競争、さらにはASEAN諸国などアジア太平洋地域の貿易構造の変化に焦点を当てています。

「PartⅡ」では、日本および関西経済の最近の動向と短期的見通しを踏まえながら、労働供給の制約にどう対峙するか、インバウンドツーリズムの可能性、大阪・関西万博の経済的影響、産業構造の変化、アフターコロナの消費行動の変容を分析します。

 

なお、本発表会の使用言語は「英語のみ」とさせていただきます。

アジア太平洋諸国・地域と日本、関西との一層の経済交流を願う多くの方々に、ご参加頂きたいと思います。
