2025年度の開催内容

Every autumn, we release an annual white paper entitled Kansai and the Asia Pacific in Japanese. In the following spring, we publish an updated and abridged version of the white paper in English. This year’s English-language issue, Kansai and the Asia Pacific: Economic Outlook 2024-25, will be released on 16 May 2025, and it will be available on the APIR website.

This year’s white paper is structured into three parts.
Part I examines the current situation and challenges faced by major countries around the world, analyzes trends in China from political and economic perspectives, and discusses future prospects for the Asia-Pacific region.  Part II provides a macroeconomic analysis of the current state of the Kansai economy, and considers its challenges and future outlook. It also analyzes trends in inbound tourism supporting the Kansai economy, explains tourism strategies with a view to the post-Expo era, and discusses strategies to attract human resources and investment to industries expected to grow in Kansai. Part III presents a chronology of developments related to Expo 2025 Osaka–Kansai, continuing from last year.

In this event, sessions will be held in English only. We invite all those who are interested in, or involved in strengthening economic ties among Kansai, the rest of Japan, and the Asia-Pacific region.
